RECALLING PAST EDITS

Is there some way of recalling past edits - I realise you can do up to approx 10 on recall drop down but is there anyway of retrieving old work before that ?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but the following things might be of use to you:
Saving a session file (in the file menu)
Favorite effects
