Effects

Once you apply an effect to a photo, is it possible to erase part of the effect i.e. I want the effect on the whole background, but not the subject.

Absolutely. You can either select the area first by choosing "Select Area" and selecting the background. Or once you've applied an effect, click on the "Mask Area" button to mask the effect out.
