Yes you are correct, I had not dragged the node bar far enough right to get it to activate. All is right with the SPE world.
BTW, I have noticed the Dummy cell used in some layouts in the node window. Are these used for layout design in case a filter is needed or do they have a programing reason?

Hi Wyndham,
Thanks for the confirmation. Really pleased all is well now.
As for the Dummy nodes, that sounds like a bug. Is it happening consistently for particular effects when you go to 'manual edit'? If so, if you could let me know which effects it is happening for, that would be great.

oil painting by Vivienne was the first I found but the other day I found another. Will let you know when I find them, thanks again
