Moon Observation Composites,Masks,textures...
I am an accomplished photographer, however, I have found the world of digital art. Most of my photography is preconceived to become digital art. I found a love for photographing textures and backgrounds for use in my final images.
The composite tool has become my best friend.
The image, Moon Observation, uses many of the effects and textures that I describe above, some textures by SPE and further manipulated.
I do all my work using SPE with an occasional use of GIMP. I would consider myself a power user of SPE. I discovered this wonderful editor when there were only a little over 200 effects.

Your term 'preconceived' rings a bell. Often I am looking through the viewfinder and two thoughts go through my mind. Firstly, can I correct a problem (e.g. excessive contrast) in Camera Raw and then could I make this a piece of digital art in SPE? I'm often thinking of a specific effect such as 'Saturate and Glow' or 'Accentuate Lighting' which I just love.
