Ducks
Not really sure how to best 'show my results' as I cannot upload anything above 2mb here
So here is some smaller examples. I always try to keep the end result as close to the original as possible.
I am wondering how you guys handle raw images? Do you first fix the noise, light and color in another program or am I overlooking these options in Smart Photo Editor?

Re: Ducks
After looking at my own uploads I think I prefer the originals most of the time

Re: Ducks
Hi,
I've looked at each of your images and tend to agree with you - I like the originals better, but I still feel that the originals need enhancing a little. The processed images look a bit over-processed to me and perhaps your choice of enhancement effects is partly to blame (although I'm not sure). When doing such enhancements it is good to have your image showing at a ratio of 1:1 (showing actual pixels) this will more clearly indicate when an effect is being over-applied. You may, of course, have done that, but just in case you had not it is worth mentioning.
Again, the order that you do things can be very important (as you know) and most experts would recommend leaving sharpening to the last possible moment.
Unfortunately, I have no experience using RAW files within Smart Photo Editor and I process these elsewhere.
You have to be congratulated on a good attempt at enhancing your images but at the same time recognizing that there may be better ways to do so.
I wish you every success in your photographic endeavours and I'm sure through time you will find the right processes withing Smart Photo Editor to meet your expectations. Don't give up - keep trying and share with us your successes!
Good luck!
Andrew

Re: Ducks
Thank you for your kind words! Like a teacher you know how to bring bad news
At the moment I'm reading a book about a Photoshop plugin called Camera Raw and I'm learning all the time.
Yes I do edit in 1:1 ratio, and I do recognise my overdoing actions... but... Can't really help it as I really did want them to turn out better then possible.
I do have to admit that I did not know to keep sharpening for the end.
I did edit these same pictures at work (for some reason we have a picture editing program... I work on a finance department) in ACDSee and using standard available edits my pictures came out perfectly sharp and without noise.
And no I did not give up hope and will give the program another shot but perhaps after I finished my book about raw files and how to best handle them.
