Two Effects Series Now Live!
Check out:
First series: Colored window frames and grids - 24 effects that have none of the masking problems of the original series. Just type 'Colored window frames and grids' in the Effects Gallery search box and the whole series should appear. You can change the color of the windows and grids.
Second series: Ab border frames - 40 effects that add a variety of colored borders to you image - you can change border color without affecting original. These work by superimposing the border on the original image - so the image/canvas size remains unchanged. As previouusly, Just type 'Ab border frames' in the Effects Gallery search box and the whole series should appear.
Thanks to Arwin and DBenterprises in helping to improve on my original series.
Thanks Tony for uploading these on my request.
Hope you enjoy. Please use the effect structure model to develop your own effects of this nature.
ENJOY!
Cheers,
Andrew
PS. Although, I'm from the United Kingdom, I've chosen to use the American spelling of Color (we spell it Colour).

Re: Two Effects Series Now Live!
Thank you Andrew. Very much appreciated. And yes, thanks to Arwin and Tony also.
You can spell color/colour, KOLOUER for all I care
I got lost again on how to make the grid (now colored) be able to be blurred??? I could do it with the old non colored but I got lost in the colored ones. Could you put up a diagram of this, thanks.

Ho DBenterprises,
Thanks for your kind comments - in respect of the blur, it was Arwin that answered your previous query and I'm sure if he reads this he will upload a diagram for you. I didn't get involved in this aspect, but I did note your previous comment - but, in this case I think, Arwin's your man!
Cheers,
Andrew

Re: Two Effects Series Now Live!
Hi all,
Nice work on the colored borders Andrew, I'm sure they will be very useful!
As for the colored window/grid DBenterprises,
It's indeed a bit tricky because of the blur and the select by color, but I managed to find a way
Hopefully the result is what you're looking for.
What you need to do is selecting the background color white of the window/grid instead of the color of the window/grid itself and after that, invert the selection.
To do this, you need to delete the select by color node, because of a bug (atleast that's what I think it is ) (if we connect the invert selection node directly to the existing select by color node, the selections are missing..)
Steps are:
-Delete Select by Color node.
-Connect a 'Gaussian blur' and a 'Merge' node (Normal Merge) to the 'Filter' (Add Filter)
-Connetct the 'Merge' node to the new 'Select by Color' node.
-Name the 'Select by Color' node to "Color" (or any name you see fit)
-Connect the 'Select by Color' node to the new 'Invert Selection' node.
-Connect the 'Invert Selection' to the existing 'Hue Saturation Brightness' node.
Settings:
Set the 'Area' and 'Softness' sliders of the 'Select by Color' node to full (0.500 & 1.000) and the color box to white.
Set the 'Area' of the Merge node before the 'Effect Output' node to 'Not Color' (or any name you gave the 'Select by Color' node).
And of course, choose your settings for the gaussian blur!
To illustrate these steps..

Hope the result is what you're looking for!

Re: Two Effects Series Now Live!
Wow!
I told you DBenterprises that Arwin was the man to solve the issue you identified. Well done Arwin - it is nice to know that your skills are available to sort out effect structure problems. You have a great deal of expertise. I certainly value you your help and assistance, and collaboration has proved its worth.
Keep up the good work.
Cheers,
Andrew
PS. I've just uploaded another new series called 'Ab novel border frames set one' numbered 001-020. These are based on the most recent colored window frames and grids so it is possible to alter the frame color without affecting the original - there should be no masking problems as the original is unchanged. Again it will take a few days before these appear. Just type 'Ab novel border frames set one' in the Effects Gallery search box and the whole series should come up.

Re: Two Effects Series Now Live!
Thanks guys, glad that it does the trick for you DBenterprises!
And how? Well, I think I've a bug in my head
I always look at what I have, second what do I want, then I start using tools out of the SPE toolbox and of course I can find more and more tools in that amazing toolbox!
Magic words; time and learn I guess
Thanks again,
Arwin
