New INDEPENDENT BLOG hosted by Anthropics
Hi Folks,
You may have missed my interaction over the past few weeks. Normally, I try to comment on current 'discussions' and although this has not been the case recently, I have indeed been viewing some amazing submissions. One discussion sticks out for me and that was from my dear friend Phelon, his 'Art Style: Partial Painting in or out an Effect' submission which caused a great deal of interest and this discussion has developed towards the idea of 'digital painting styles' and programs that can be used to produce photo-art. So well done to all the contributors in this debate.
Family commitments have limited the time available to devote to the SPE Forum, but now I am much freer and hope to start contributing and commenting once again.
One other thing is, that I was approached by Anthropics, the company behind Smart Photo Editor, who asked me if I was willing to create an 'Independent Blog' from an experienced user's perspective. This blog which is called 'artyfactsbyandrewbuchanan', is freely administered by me, although it is hosted on the Smart Photo Editor Website. It is early days, and at the moment full integration with the SPE Website is not complete, however, my blog is now up and running. The company is likely to run their own blog too.
My interest in using Smart Photo Editor has always been geared towards the creation of PHOTO-ART rather than more purist photography, although I do use it for that purpose too and rate it highly for that purpose. Because my blog stems from my experiences, the focus of the blog will be the 'Creative' use of Smart Photo Editor in producing 'Photo-Art'.
Even if you don't know who I am (and this is addressed in my blog), you have probably been exposed to my contributions within the 'Effect Gallery' under my SPE user name: andrewb2012 as I am the leading effects creator having contributed over 3200 of them to the Community.
I hope to share my experience of SPE and help you get the most out of your creative endeavours through my blog.
It almost 'goes without saying', but I feel it is a great privilege to be given this opportunity to share with you and I hope to serve you well.
So here is a link to my new blog:

Hope you enjoy!

Andrew

This is wonderful news! I am a fairly new SPE user, but already a great admirer of your work. As a matter of fact, the very first effect I tried out was your New Dimensions 009, and I was immediately hooked on SPE. Your training videos are perfect for learning SPE, and I'm looking forward to your blog contributions!

Thank you eadams,
I am not unfamiliar with your huge contribution of late to the SPE Forum and I highly rate your artistic creativity and technical skills. So it is nice to hear from you. I hope to pick up some of the topics that have been explored in recent discussions of which you have played a part. Given time, I hope to look back over recent uploads and comment on the work of others.
In the meantime, thanks for taking the time to write with your words of encouragement.
Have a great week ahead!

Andrew

Andrew, I especially love the video on Random Masking Techniques because the image and effects you selected are so beautiful.
I was curious about the background music and went to the website you credited for the license and it was totally in Chinese (or similar language). Was the URL correct?

Hello eadams,
Glad you liked the Random Masking Techniques video & I hope you will enjoy the blog as it develops.
The gentleman behind NVM Digital retired a few years ago and I think the site may have lain dormant. I purchased licenses for a number of 'music libraries' on disc many years ago and have been able to use them on a royalty free basis within videos. I just wanted to acknowledge the source on my videos, but, in truth, I think it may be impossible to source the music now. There is no one more upset than me as I was trying to purchase licenses for the complete library.
Have a creative day!
Andrew
