That's ALL Folks!
Hi Folks,
I've just uploaded my final effect contributions called 'Final effects from me' (about 80 effects) - this now takes my effects to over 4000 and, as mentioned in earlier posts, I have decided not to post any more effects to the SPE Gallery.
Whereas, in the past I had said I would stop (I think about 2000) - I did come back and add more bringing the total to slightly over the above total. I will, no longer, be sharing my effects as users must be sick looking at effects from me.
My hope throughout the past few years I've been doing this, is that others would come along and start contributing too. This has happened to some extent, but I would still love to see more contributors. There are 36963 members of this Forum and, as far as I can ascertain, there are around 100 effect contributors - which is slightly under .003% of the membership of the Forum. Just think what potential exists to tap into the membership to develop new and exciting effect types and approaches. Personally, I would love to see new ideas coming forth over the next few years and more users contributing effects to the SPE Community. This is not meant to be, in any way, a criticism of the membership - it is just an expression of what I set out to do - that was, ENCOURAGE OTHERS to develop effects that would take SPE to new levels.
There will be no going back (this time), any effects that I make from now on will be for personal use only (although, if I come up with anything new, it is likely that Arwin will develop some of these ideas and share them with you under his name). I will be continuing to run my blog "Andrew Buchanan's Arty Facts" which is hosted by Anthropics Technology (The company behind Smart Photo Editor) - link: http://www.smartphotoeditor.com/AndrewBuchanan/ and I will be creating more Video Tutorials and Resource Packs as before.
I will still contribute images to the Forum and from time-to-time I will comment on others submissions (but, for a number of reasons, I have to reduce my commitment to the Forum, however, I will still announce new blog articles and any video tutorials that I make in the future).
Let me wish you a happy time during this period of festive events.
Kind regards,
Andrew

Re: That's ALL Folks!
Dear Andrew,
Over 4000 effects, what an accomplishment!! No one could have expected so much from one contributor, and it is understandable that you need to cut back (your family needs attention, too!). I am looking forwarding to experimenting with the thousands of effects you have submitted. If there is one thing I love about using SPE, it is the rewarding feeling of discovery when I find the perfect effect for my image. Your effects are so diverse, I can always find one I love, no matter what the image is.
I have learned so much from your tutorials and tips, and I am glad you will be continuing your blog and collaborating with Arwin. I hear your encouragement to the community to develop new effects, and hope someday to be able to contribute in that fashion. Nothing I have come up with so far has been good enough to share, but I am still working on it.
Thank you for all you have done! Wishing you a relaxing and joyous holiday season,
Eve

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for all your wonderful effect contributions, I'm sure they will be widely used among all spe users!
I don't think anyone would be sick seeing your name, I even don't think someone wil look at the author, but always go for the effect in the first place and with the amount you contributed it's likely they will see your name
I will also thank you for all I learned from you, digging thru your effect and see how things work (among others too of course), this was very helpful to me when I started using SPE and will recommend to everybody to do if they like to start creating effects!
Glad you will continue your blog and awesome tutorial vids, they are absolutely key to any starting (and/or advanced) SPE users, very helpful!
Hope you will have a great time with family and dear ones and wish you a joyous holiday season!
Regards,
Arwin

Hi Andrew,
Wow, 4000 effects, I never thought anyone would make that many when I started writing SPE. Well done, not just for the effects, but for the inspiration you've provided to others. I'm sure we'd be down many more than 4000 effects if you had never started. Thank you so much for all your hard work.
Have a great Christmas!
Tony
