New to Smart Editor

Postby Chopper » Tue Aug 21, 2012 5:11 pm

I have been using Smart Editor for a few months in conjunction with Adobe Lightroom 3, Gimp and Photoshop 7. I think it's great value for money and have created some spectacular results, although I do have a couple of minor concerns. I would like a more accurate masking out liner and quite often the programme simply freezes and stops working. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Hi Chopper,

Re Masking: To get the best results from the selection system, just use the brush as small as possible and run it around the edge of the area. Then use the flood fill to fill in the bulk of it. Use shift to get into thin corners. The current brush is optimised for soft, discontinuous selections. In a few weeks we will be releasing a second brush that works better on solid, hard edged areas, so that might work better for your circumstances.

Regarding the freezes, I suggest you open a support ticket here: http://www.smartphotoeditor.com/support ... icket_main so our support staff can try and reproduce the exact situation that is causing you problems. We should also be releasing a new version soon which includes some bug fixes.

Tony
