Re: Using the Composite Feature to Take Control of Effects

Thank you Phelon for the kind words concerning me and the time you took to write down your ideas and thoughts about the searchability of effects in SPE.

As English is not my native language, translating, understanding and memorize all you wrote, it can happen I misunderstood some parts, but as always I try to do my best and learning all the time ;)

I totally agree with you that the tremendous amount of effects is somewhat overwhelming, despite the well thought manner SPE will suggest effects upon the image you are using, it can happen you missed that particular specific effect you like to use and never aware about it exist in SPE.

I really do not know how to solve this, in saying that an effect can work out totally different on multiple different images. So a preview image on a website for instance, can give a suggestion, but it could be totally different on your image.

Categorizing/tagging
As effect creator I try to categorize and tag my effects as much as possible, sometimes even moths later if I find more suitable tags for a specific effect(serie), I will tag them again.
Tagging is community wide, so you can find effects by using tags I gave them and aswell as I can find them with tags you gave them, so no need to tag 2000 effects or more unless you've got better tags to use of course.

As example,
In the time I finished my heart shaped effects, I tagged them as heart and heart clickready, while searching the effect gallery for effects I found more existing heart effects, so I tagged them also as heart, so anybody can find them now while searching for heart.

Linking effect previews
I and Andrew, mostly, do write topics about our new effects. Explaining the idea, how to use them, given names of the effects, categories and tags in where you can find them and example previews!
Maybe an idea to the SPE team to link those topics to the effects?
Like when I click on the effectname Heart clickready 002 it opens a webpage why not linking to the topic: Heart Shape Effects? or create a link on this webpage?
Still this only gives you an idea about this effect when you know of the effect (or came across while search effects)

About the topics I wrote about my effects, here is a list
New neon silhouette figures effects and more..
New Lens Flare effects
More New Sky Replacements!
Stage effects (Light, Spot, Smoke)
Collage effects
Text effects
Davids Fog effect
New Bittbox variations
Heart Shape Effects
Added the Neon Cut Out effects
New Drop Shadow and Neon effects
New Christmas effects added
Snowy Weather
Some new effects

Andrew
Regarding to your question Andrew, I would sincerely joining with the answer Eve gave!
Aslong as you would missing creating effects in/for SPE, why stop?! No my friend I sincerely enjoy your creativity, passion and knowledge you put into your effects and the community, so please don't stop as long there is no other reason to stop than your own reason!

Thank you Andrew and thanks to everyone that do comment here at the topics and to all effect contributors, you make this place spinning!

Kind regards,
Arwin
