Use of Spotlight Effect
Hi, couldn't wait to use Arwin's new spotlight effect. So here's my first attempt. I wanted a coloured spotlight that matched the overall picture so use the green spotlight and changed the hue. I also masked the areas on the aircraft so that the some of the spotlights appeared to be illuminating the blindside. Also needed to be careful to mask other areas that would not have been lit by the spotlight. No doubt I missed something somewhere ....

Re: Use of Spotlight Effect
Hi Richard,
Very cool and great to see some creations already!
Did you use the select area tool to get the effect on the background?
I've played with an image to do the same. I did use the select area tool and use 'background' than I would, in this case, select the fighterplane and choose for 'invert selection' and finish for an effect, in this case a Stage Light effect.
To bring a Stage Light effect in the front, just add a new Stage Light effect without the select area tool.
btw, there is also a Yellow Stage Light effect, but hue will work aswell of course
In the new version of this effect the stripes you see in the light, will be gone (blurred), same effect name with (v2) added.
Hope to see more lighted work of you
Kind regards,
Arwin

Fabulous result Richard - great image to start with, but the lights give that 'added' dimension. Looks like Arwin's lighting effects will be widely used as they are so versatile as Anita said. Well done Richard - and well done Arwin!

Andrew

Here's a V2 of the Phantom in the base note but using the V2 spotlight effects. Went mad with the colours this time...

Re: Use of Spotlight Effect
Now if you could just get those spot lights (the bulbs in the fixtures) the same color as the lights, it would be terrific.
Re: Use of Spotlight Effect
That is possible DBenterprises, but does not bother me, in this case
Just pull the beam a bit back over the light source and use the gradiënt modifier (not sure about that name), but I'm talking about the "0----0" line on the top side of the effect, as you can see in the image I attached. In that case, it looks like a 'normal' gel light
I modified the red light only in this image..

Re: Use of Spotlight Effect
Great idea. Here it is with coloured 'bulbs'. I'm afraid I had to revert to Photoshop (sorry guys!). It was just quicker for me. The original is also included....
