SUSPENSE OVER - ALL IS REVEALED!
Hi All,
As a result of creating my recent Calendar Templates, I thought it was time to UNLOCK some of the deeper potential of SPE. I saw that it was possible to go in directions not necessarily explored before through the use of the Fantastic SPE features, such as the Composite Feature. As I explored the possibilities I was AMAZED to realize that, with the aid of a 'HELPING' hand, SPE users could take much more control of outcomes and stamp their own personality on their own artwork results. The ideas that are behind my approach are probably best suited to users who have a good working knowledge of Smart Photo Editor.
The 'Helping Hand' comes in the form of a resource pack of over 500 MB of graphic images, backgrounds, overlays, and so on...created by me from scratch in a variety of drawing & paint programs. In addition, I reprocessed some of these graphics in SPE and applied textures, some of my own effects were used and also those of other effect contributors. I acknowledge their contributions with grateful thanks.
To LAUNCH my new approach, I've created two Advanced Tutorial Videos (with more to follow) and made available a large amount of resource material under the title 'Creative Kit One' (more packs to follow in the future).
VIDEO TUTORIAL ONE: 'Learn to Unlock the Full Potential of SPE - Part 1'
Vimeo Link: http://vimeo.com/111940943
This tutorial video is aimed at experienced users of Smart Photo Editor - therefore only the KEY elements of processes are shown. It is assumed that the gaps can be filled through the viewer's pre-knowledge, experience & understanding. It is an ADVANCED tutorial.
The video aims to UNLOCK some of the deeper potential of SPE for creating ART - the ideas may also appeal to photographers wishing to display their photographs, for example.
VIDEO TUTORIAL TWO: 'Learn to Unlock the Full Potential of SPE - Part 2'
Vimeo Link: http://vimeo.com/111942498
This is a 'Follow-On' tutorial and to get the BEST from this video it is important to view Part 1
'Learn to Unlock the Full Potential of SPE - Part 1'
Part 1 is the KEY tutorial that UNLOCKS a fuller appreciation of the POWER of Smart Photo Editor
The resources referred to in the video can be downloaded here, which is where you will find my blog article too - Andrew Buchanan's Arty Facts:
http://www.smartphotoeditor.com/AndrewBuchanan/?p=352
You may use these resources freely for personal or commercial use. No need to link to my Blog, nor acknowledge use of my work. Adapt them to suit your own needs.
After downloading the resources it might be wise to create a folder called 'Creative Kit One' and organize it similar to mine containing 14 resource folders:
* 7 x 5 Frames
* A4 Backgrounds
* Colored Satin Overlays
* Colored Textured Overlays
* Distressed Colored Overlays
* Film Border Colored
* Gradients
* Graphics
* Multi-Colored Overlays
* Paint Marks
* People Silhouettes
* Solid Colors
* Square Backgrounds
* Watercolor Overlays
The main folder in the video shows each of the 14 folders named above and it also contains the images used in the video.
Andrew Buchanan's Arty Facts main URL is http://www.smartphotoeditor.com/AndrewBuchanan/
I said I was AMAZED - I hope you are too - not with me, but the UNBELIEVABLE SCOPE of Smart Photo Editor.
Presently, you can download the full (over 500 MB) 'Creative Kit One' resource pack directly by clicking on this link (which also appears in my blog):
http://cloudfront.portraitprofessional. ... %20ONE.zip
I am in discussion with Gary (Anthropics) about other download options which may allow you to select what you require, but for now, if you want these resources, you will need to download the full pack (Zip File).
My little game is over - building up anticipation - just meant to be a bit of FUN in sharing my own EXCITEMENT.
Delighted, as always, to hear you views an comments.
My over-riding hope is that users will make their own resources as I have and incorporate them into their own ARTWORKS (and perhaps share them with the SPE Community too).
Kindest Regards.
Have a CREATIVE time ahead!

Re: SUSPENSE OVER - ALL IS REVEALED!
Andrew, you are a true Gentleman and Scholar. Thank you for all your hard work. In this day and age of charging for just about everything, it is really amazing to me that someone (you) would give away so much.
Thanks again and again!!!
Thanks again and again!!!
Re: SUSPENSE OVER - ALL IS REVEALED!
Andrew, you never cease to amaze me with your creativity, skill and generosity. You have truly unlocked the true potential of SPE by pointing out the endless possibilities of combining images with external resources instead of relying only on the effects available "out of the box" within the Effects Gallery. You could have simply created the two videos highlighting these possibilities and stopped there.
Instead, you provided a huge library of resources of your own making. That just bowls me over. You started down this road with the frames resource package you provided and with the calendar templates. Those were specialized resource kits, but the new Creative Kit takes the idea a huge step further.
As always, I loved the two new videos. I know it was your intention to highlight the power of SPE, and you succeeded, but as always what impressed me the most was your creativity and skill as a designer.
Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into this project and for the enjoyment it has brought me!

Re: SUSPENSE OVER - ALL IS REVEALED!
Hi DennB & Eve,
It has been, it is and will be my pleasure to pass on any knowledge, ideas and resources to help others in their creativity. I get a lot out of making all of these, because as I travel well on the way to being 70 in a few years, I have always tried to keep my mind active. So for me it is very rewarding to create things and it's even more rewarding to think that these things have value to others. Besides my lovely wife Anne and my ever increasing family, my greatest love and 'driver' is being creative - I just love creating things, be it in wood, on canvas, in music...and so on. What I do for the SPE Community is simply an extension of this. So what might seem very altruistic, is probably very selfish - who knows!
Anyway, my overriding desire is not to make clones out of SPE users, but rather, I want others to try for themselves new ideas and to create their own resources. Anthropics have been very kind to me in facilitating my blog from which I get a bit of a thrill. It is really nice to hear that both of you dip into it now and then - I hope you find the videos easy to follow - they all lack 'voice-overs', but if you heard my voice on the videos you would know why I don't make comment. It is too demanding to write scripts for others to read!
Look forward to how the new ideas reflect in your ARTWORK and images.
Thanks for your support and encouragement - as always ENJOY!
Kindest Regards,
Andrew

Hi Tony, Arwin & Mozzy,
Thanks for your kind comments - Tony has already said what I would say "I look forward to seeing all the creative uses that I'm sure the community will come up with".
Glad you like the videos and resources - I'm working on two new ideas to further broaden the scope of SPE!
I'm having FUN, so that's good!
Kind regards,
Have a great day my friends,
Andrew
