The Filter node is simple yet extremely powerful and when you combine its two attributes you can achieve subtle but interesting effects. The Fill color option lets you select any color of your preference. On the other hand, the Filter type option gives you the ability to choose from any of the 26 pre-defined blending modes allowing you to blend the color you chose with your original image. The Area option lets you make use of different selections you have created.
