We need a CLAHE effect
Hi there,
A CLAHE effect , I mean Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization would be very useful, for instance for the landscapes and seascapes.
You can find some info about it there : http://fiji.sc/wiki/index.php/Enhance_Local_Contrast_(CLAHE) and many more links using Google of course.
The "local contrast" existing effect is nice but CLAHE is different actually and can show up many details.

Interesting looking algorithm. The auto tone slider in image treatment does a global histogram equalisation, so that in combination with the clarity slider in image treatment might do something similar to what you would like. I'll certainly consider these local histogram methods when we next make some more nodes. The tricky bit might be getting it to work quickly.
