Adding Backgrounds and Textures

Is there a way to add my own backgrounds/textures to the gallery? I'm interested in creating a fanfic graphic and need a red satin background. I see there is a black one, but that won't suit my purposes. Has to be red satin. If this feature isn't available can you make it so it is possible to add my own graphics?

Hi mississippibellalis,

You can save most of your specific edits as an effect in the Gallery. For example, if you use Composite to add a background (See Replacing Backgrounds Tutorial for info on how to do this) Composite allows you to add your own background/texture either as an overlay or underlay. Once you're happy with your edit, go to the top right where the edit timeline is. Right Click "Composite" and select Store or Publish.

This will take you to the Publishing screen, where you can add your edits to the Effect Gallery. Give the effect a name and select some relevant categories to add it to. Then select either Tag and Share Effect if you want to share the effect with the community or Tag For My Use Only if you do not want to share it with the Smart Photo Editor community.

You should then be able to use the effect by selecting an area and searching for it when in the Gallery.

Thanks Arjun, I had seen the composite area tutorial when I first got this software but had forgotten about it. Thanks for reminding me.
