Soft Blend Mode

When I use "COMPOSITE" and am adding my own texture to a image, when I select the BLEND MODE under the "OVERLAY/UNDERLAY" menu is it possible to have a "SOFT BLEND" feature added to the pull down menu...I have seen other peoples results using CS6, and their results are amazing...Some of they're results blend in perfectly with the original image, and actually look like manual paintings, depending on what certain texture they apply..Attached are 2 images from CS6 users.

Awesome. if anyone can figure it out its you all @ SPE...Good luck and I can't wait to see what you come up with
