realistic room to hang art

Postby psfowler » Sun May 19, 2013 1:57 pm

I would love to have some virtual rooms where I could hang the drawings that I am tweaking so I could show a buyer what the art would look like hanging over a couch, fireplace, bed, and/or table etc.
And it would be really cool if we could change the dimensions of art!

Hi there,

This sounds like a lovely idea but it is a lot of work to implement and wouldn't be a high priority at the moment. We'll keep it in mind though.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Actually, it would be pretty simple:

Firstly prepare the picture you want in SPE and save it out.
Then load in a picture of the room you want to hang your photo in, then add your picture as an Overlay in the Composite tool. You can then use the Move Rotate Scale button to position your photo in to place.
This will only work for walls that a flat on to the camera, but it should be enough to get an idea of what it looks like hanging up. I've actually used this myself to see what some photos would look like hanging in my livingroom, and they are up there now printed onto canvas!
