How to download my photos ..?

I just trying to use the photo editor for the first time...But I can not download any of my photos... just the ones from "photo booth" .. (?) How do I get the rest..? please

Smart Photo Editor allows you to open any of the files on your hard disk. You have to navigate to where they are stored to find them using the file browser. If you are trying to load a picture that is on the internet, you'll have to download it to your computer first.
