Effect update on startup
Hi,
it looks like the latest version does update the effect galley on startup if it hasn´t been updated for some time.
If you cancel out the update during startup the program ends instead of starting with the old gallery, as I would have expected.
I think an update during startup should be made optional (or able to cancel) to avoid problems when no internet is available or the user is in a rush and just wanted to do a quick edit with an existing effect.

Re: Effect update on startup
Hi MacSa,
I agree update during startup is not ideal, so I've tried to avoid it, however you might have found a bug with that. The gallery only updates on startup if it doesn't have any valid gallery to work with. It only checks for a new gallery when you close the software (and you can just leave that dialog open and go on with other things). If it's updating on startup a lot that sounds like it's not properly remembering when it has a valid gallery (perhaps it gets confused when you cancel an update), so I'll look into that and try and fix it for the next release.

Re: Effect update on startup
Hi Tony,
thanks for the feedback.
I have tried to reproduced the request for update during start again - but was not able to do so ...
Two possibilities:
- I might have not started SPE for a longer time (about 3 weeks)
- I might have installed an update in between and this might have been the first start of the update
Just so I don´t let you run around looking for things that I might have caused ...
Thanks again - MacSass

Re: Effect update on startup
Hi MacSass
I looked into it yesterday and found that if you cancel an update, it will force an update the next time you start the software even if you already had a valid gallery. I've fixed this and the fix is just going into testing now.
