Save what you see option....

Postby Penningtons7 » Wed Aug 08, 2012 10:56 am

It would be nice to be able to save images that you are previewing from gallery view. This would speed up multiple edits of a same image when needed (I do that kind of editing at times). Right now I have to confirm, Then save, delete last effect call up effects and search through again.

Also a feature where we could bake the formula at any point I think this will make machines choke less on images with many effects applied. Example would be an image is loaded in first thing it needs is straightened then cropped and levels adjusted. This would be a great bake point. Then after bake work on other effects.....

Re Save what you see:
When you shortlist any gallery effect, it will appear in your favourite effects list after you apply. Then all you need to do is delete the effect you applied and choose another one from your favourites list.

Re baking:
Interesting idea, although it's actually not too different to what the software does internally anyway.

I was meaning the ability to save jpegs from gallery view.....

Again it would allow me to save multiple edits of a certain picture. without having to keep go through the gallery over and over. I might be only one who sees this as useful just wanted to mention it.

Hi,

for me this sounds like a useful request - if it can be done. I was thinking the preview was of lower quality ... but if it would render the full quality on preview - why not?

Is it possible you are saving it as a session and not as a jpg?

Or perhaps you did not try to print the actual saved file? By default SPE ads the suffix "_PE" to a pictures name unless you type in other name. Look for you picture with that suffix see if that works.

I like Pennington7's suggestion. I find it very frustrating if I save an effect and then it goes back to the beginning again and I have to go all the way through multiple pages to get back to where I was when I saved it.

In a similar vein would it be possible to have a search feature for a page # under a topic rather than having to scroll through many many pages to get back to where I left off?

And I'd love to have the ability to search for "new effects" when the program gets updated without having to go through every page to see if something else looks like it's been added.

Hi Wolfy,

Luckily a lot of the things you want are in there already.

- To go to a specific page in the gallery, hover over where it says Page X of Y and you will be able to jump to a page
- You can see the latest effects in the gallery, by turning on show latest in the settings dialog then going back to the gallery
- If you shortlist effects, they will all appear in 'favourites' once you apply.

Hope that helps!

Thank you Tony. That helps a lot. I really appreciate the way you take the time to answer all our questions. Such personal attention is a rarity these days.
