Use layers
Would like to use layers to "ADD" to original background image. Then also, the "eye" that is commonly used to turn on or off the "effect" of the layer. Lots of good reasons to use layers: i.e. user can select any layer to further enhance it or not (deselect the eye). I could go on, but first it has to be understood that layers are probably going to be the standard workflow and would solve a lot of peoples frustrations.

Re: Use layers
I have to agree that it is important not to go too far from the way most software tools work. In doing so you will most likeley reduce you potential rather than meet it. The software already has enough uniqity to make it desireable but perhaps not to those unwilling or unable to learn another way.
I think there needs to be an ability to turn on and off some of these featuires this way the software can apeal to the amatuers in basic modes. While at the same time reaching out to the pros with an advanced mode.

Re: Use layers
I agree about the turning on and off of layers. I'm not sure what you mean about adding to original background image. Is that different from the composite overlay?
