Thanks! I have a friend in California, Cody. I live in Florence, Italy. Great help, thank you again.
Re: Raw files. How to see them loading?
Hi everyone,
What's been described in this thread so far is installing a new piece of software that you can launch SPE from. There is another alternative (generally more for Windows at least, I'm not sure how common it is on Mac). When you open a file using SPE it just shows the operating system's default file browser. Manufacturers can produce what's called a 'codec' which means you can see a preview of all your Raw files in any software including windows explorer and SPE. For instance a quick search brought up this codec from Panasonic: http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/d ... index.html
The advantage of this is that you will see raw files when using File > Open, which wouldn't happen if you just used Faststone (which is a great bit of software by the way).

Hi Luciano,
It will depend on the maker of your camera. It does look like the Lumix codec doesn't support XP. You could always try it anyway, occasionally they don't mention XP because it's so old.

Ok, Tony. I will try: my camera is Panasonic, GX1, and the OS is younger than me. I'm 64. Thank you!

Luciano,
You forget, computers are like dogs, 13 years in computers is like 130 in human years, so you are still a spring chicken in comparison to windows XP.
