Re: calender template
I think this would be very usefull
Re: calender template
A calendar is not fixed object, like a texture in an effect, (It has to do some calculations) so unless it's integrated in the software, I don't think it's likely to see in SPE.
(If the SPE team is able to make a Calendar-node, it could change my idea, but that's what I said, 'under the hood' )

Re: calender template
Hi jiggythistle, Peterdavid and Arwin,
In response to your request I set about creating Calendar Templates that will work in SPE - they are single page effects in the international A4 format. Each series of effects has the 1st of the month starting on a different day and there are templates for 28, 29, 30 and 31 day months. Your original image is automatically place as shown in the examples - the only thing you need to do is use the TEXT feature to add the Actual Month & Year - this is a very simple procedure and the text box is already centred in the right location. Just a matter of typing the name of the month and year.
I have uploaded 2 test effects and once proved I will upload a number of different series and make PDF catalogues that you can download.
Examples:
I will also make a short video to support the template effects and post to my blog: http://www.smartphotoeditor.com/AndrewBuchanan/
Just have to wait a little while till everything is tested and approved.
Regards,
Andrew

Re: calender template
Andrew, this is amazing. My thoughts when seeing requests for calendar templates were similar to what Arwin wrote. Since calendars are not static objects, it would be just impractical to create user templates for them. But then you go to all the trouble of creating several series of templates to cover all contingencies and a video to explain how to use them. I hope the users who are interested in such templates appreciate how much of your free time you sacrificed to make this possible.
I actually just bought a 2015 calendar, but I will make additional ones with your templates - they will make great gifts.

Re: calender template
I had hoped to create effects to produce calendar pages at the request of users, but unfortunately SPE doesn't really support the concept of having a fixed size image in which your original image can be posted. I tried all sorts of ideas, but eventually decided that it might be better to to use the Composite Feature, which in fact, gives users more control.
Here is a link to my blog Andrew Buchanan's Arty Facts where you will find a Tutorial Video and all the required TEMPLATES that you can download and freely use:

If you want to see the Video on its own, you can view it in Vimeo at:

Note: To all who were looking forward to effects - I have tried my utmost to create generic Calendar Effects that you could use with any image no matter what its aspect ratio was. I did tests and uploaded them and sought advice from Tony (Anthropics) - between us we tried various options. Here is the problem. It was not possible to maintain both the aspect ratio of the calendar template and the original image. It was either the one or the other. This was no use for making calendars to be printed out on standard papers. The use of the Composite Feature too overcome the problems might seem disappointing but, in truth, users will have much more control over the results.
I don't often say this (in fact I've never said it before) - but I think this approach is really worth pursuing - I would encourage you to WATCH the Video at least and, if you are interested, download the templates of which there are 8 series that can be downloaded a series at a time. You can download the Master Templates too and create your own templates from them.
Kindest regards,
Andrew
