history or log of actions or chnges
I think a great feature would be a history recorder that would log each change you make to an image. Then if you were to revisit that photo some time later, you could follow the history to a certain point and make new modifications rather than starting all over. If this is already possible please point me to the feature. Thank you.
Re: history or log of actions or chnges
Hi C,
I mentioned this exact thing last week. As far as I know they are giving it some thought. If I work on a project that has a fork in the road as to which direction I want to go with the image, I save the image just before I take the new path.
My file name usually contains enough information that I can duplicate or get very close to redoing the image. Also, I save my work in sessions. This way I have all the effects listed and in what order. I have two computers with three TB. So hard drive space is not an issue with me.
Also, I have developed a short hand for each effect that I use, ie, Old Postcard would be OP, Flip Blend Rotate, FBR.
Hope I haven't confused you. Happy trails.

Hi C. Heller,
We are considering a more complex history recorder, however I think what you might be looking for is something that's already available that Wess mentioned. When you do File > Save As Session, all the effects you've applied are saved, so when you reload that session file you'll see all the effects you've applied listed as tabs on the top right of the software.

Thanks for the reply Tony,
One other thing that might help the work flow and it relates to this topic, is to File>Save As, the last image and it will show up next to the sessions file that the image is related to. Jars the ol' grey matter as to what the project is.

Thanks Tony for the reply. I didn't realize that was done in the Save as a session. That will help a lot.

I was going to make the same request but I see it's been answered.
However, instead of save session it would be nice to have the info saved under the photo meta data.
