All selections are saved automatically. To re-use a selection, just hover your mouse over the Effects Gallery button, and you should see a pop up window with buttons for showing galleries for existing selections on the bottom. If a popup doesn't appear, go to File > Settings and make sure Show Pop up windows: "Descriptions for tools on right", is checked.
