Document cleaning
Hi,
As an amateur family historian I often work with old wills and documents that are difficult to read having discoloured backgrounds. Even new scans of these documents are grey.
I came across printer software at http://www.pixedit.com called DocWash which looked ideal for my document restoration work. Unfortunately it is not a plug-in or standalone program, it is part of an expensive software package for companies and retailing about £1500 + vat. This DocWash program cleans either grayscale or colour documents by using a threshold filter.
Is there anyone who is able to add a filter of this type to Smart Photo Editor
Regards.

Re: Document cleaning
Hi Arnie,
If you do File > Update Galleries, go into the effects gallery and search for "threshold" in the search box in the top right, you'll find something that does a threshold (while trying to reduce noise).
Hope that helps,
Tony

Hi Tony
Thanks for your help, I tried it on an old news cutting and it came out great.
Thanks again
