I alphabetized the list, but the source list seems to have a lot of invalid data in it. When I search for the effect names in SPE I don't find all of the listed effects.
I thought it might be possible to synch this list with the list of Andrew's effects, but I decided that it is too much work

Re: Feature requests
Thanks for doing that E. Much easier to peruse the list now. I was told a while back when I first requested a list and noted that some didn't seem to work, that the items you can't see in the gallery are probably ones that need a selection to apply e.g. sky effects, background effects etc.
Re: Feature requests
10. Opacity control for masking brush. If this feature is already available, I haven't yet discovered it.
When using SPE as a standalone, I often would like to reduce (not eliminate) an effect on certain areas of an image. I can't find a simple way to do that within SPE.
11. Include an opacity adjustment option in the Effect Controls of all effects.
Sometimes an effect would look better on an image if it were more subtle. If a "Master Fade" slider is available in the Effect Controls, I use that to adjust the opacity. Some effects don't have a "Master Fade" slider, however, and I can't figure out how to minimize the effect within SPE (e.g. Watercolor Overlay 007).

Re: Feature requests
There is an opacity control for the airbrush. (Hidden feature: It actually affects the other two brushes I think, but they won't work very well if selecting an area from scratch if not at 100% opacity, which is why it's not displayed).
SPE tries to put in a master slider for all effects, but there are some which can't be faded in. The usual reason is because there is some node that changes the size or position of the picture, and if you cross fade things that are not aligned, you end up with a ghost image, which is not desirable.

Re: Feature requests
Thanks for the tip about the airbrush, Tony! I guess it would be possible to make the brush really large and brush over the whole image in the paint-out mode to reduce the opacity of the effect on the image overall. I'll try it out and report back. If this really works well, an easy fix would be to add some text to the user interface pointing out this "hidden" feature.

Re: Feature requests
Good to know. That was a reason I was so happy that SPE finally could be used as a plugin. I use SPE as a plugin with Sagelight and when the image is returned to Sagelight, it has a great undo brush where I can control size and amount (pressure and hardness) of any effect from SPE. Have to try this other method you have described.

Re: Feature requests
Big THANK YOU eadams for creating the alphabetical list - great help!
I'm hoping in the future to do the same with my list but also include some images of applied effects.
Anyway, thanks for putting in such time and effort!
Cheers,
Andrew

Re: Feature requests
You're very welcome, Andrew. Any effect list external to the program is unfortunately just a stop-gap measure, since it isn't automatically updated when effects are added to the library, and it includes effects that have since been removed. Anthropics could provide an index of effects, but having a better search mechanism would render that unnecessary.

Gee eadams, I thanked you and answered your question 7 posts up but you didn't tell me "you're welcome". I feel slighted.
Re: Feature requests
Oops, DBenterprises, I apologize! No slight intended! I overlooked that post, thank you for bringing it to my attention. Even if it's possible that some effects can only be found if a selection has been defined, some of the effects listed on the website are really no longer in the library. At least they are undiscoverable even if a selection has been made.
I did see your other post (where you mention Sagelight) and started to reply when I was interrupted. For the reason you describe I also prefer to use SPE in plug-in mode
