defringing

hi, i do a lot of background work. And the only place i can find defringe is in the composite section. I don't have my own backgrounds (so i don't use layers) and i don't need them as the community's are awesome. But without a defringe in gallery etc i am getting halo's….is there any chance you could put defringe in other sections please?…or could someone tell me another way to get get rid of the halo's. thank you.

Unfortunately in most cases, I guess, this is going to involve editing an effect to add in the de-fringer as they wouldn't normally have added one. The edit is fairly simple, once you know how to use the effect editor, you just need to insert a selection separator node in between an image being loaded (usually via a load internet image) and when it is pasted on top (usually via Merge or Place And Merge).
