Add keywords for effects and works with search.
When people creates effects, it should allow the creator add its own keywords and not based from the "Realistic" and/or "Dramatic" list which is a pain to search and check one by one. They are not even in alphabetically order.
So, the search should be abble to search into keywords and description and bring results from it.
IMHO it is a must have.
Regards.

Hi lucato,
SPE is using a tagg system to search the effects, anyone can tagg an effect, taggs are community wide!
If you are in the Effect Gallery, you will see the 'Rate As' button by an effect (just below the sliders), if you click on it, you can enter a tagg (multiple taggs are possible, but just one tagg at a time)
As an effect creator, I always tagg my effects.

Re: Add keywords for effects and works with search.
When I tested creating a effect, as I mentioned before just had shown me the "Realistic" and/or "Dramatic" list which is a pain to search and check one by one and it was a pre made list and not allowing you as creator to enter the wanted keyword/tag.
Didn't get to achieve your tip. It didn't show anything to add keywords/tags after changing the rate from one effect. Now even closing the file and creating a new project or starting over SPE, I do not get to add tags. The community tag system seem to be cool, but, I still thing my suggestion would work better for search results.

Re: Add keywords for effects and works with search.
Hi Lucato,
Adding other tags is only available once you see the effect in the gallery. Then you can press on the "Rate As" button. That way, anyone can add a tag.

Hi Tony, now I know why it didn't work before. I was clicking on the stars once there is NO button look in the "Rate As", it just shows a plain text and just looks like a button when I mouse over, and just found it out now. Maybe a lot of other uses doesn't even know that can also tag them due the not very well design GUI IMHO.
I mean, IMHO it should be improved by:
1st. Or by placing in the EFFECTS CONTROLS the input text field right away and the plain text on the left side as "Add new tags:" and also it should show on the bottom all already assigned tags to the filter, so the user won't lost time by typing tags that were already entered;
2nd. Or by creating an extra button "Tag this effect" above the "Add to Shortlist" button and the pop-up with the input field and the existent tags would open up;
3rd. Or by renaming the actual "Rate as" to "Add new tags" or "Tag this effect" and making it really looks like as a button and not as a plain text, plus adding on the bottom the tags alread assigned to the effect.
Well, just an opinion from the impressions I had when using and the real issue by not finding the "button" to add tags.;0)
Anyway, all said above I still, think also that the effect creator must be abble to add their own keywords when going to publish but not based from the "Realistic" and/or "Dramatic", and yes allow to add any keywords.
Well, just my 2c. ;0)
Have a nice day.
