That's not how SPE should behave, but I do think you need a bit more specific..

In what circumstance does it occur, what does occur, do you use SPE as plugin or standalone, mac or pc version, do you use the latest version of SPE?

I would open up a support ticket and add this information to it, Im sure they will help you out.
