how do you create your own effects. how can you use one of your pic. in the create effects, to mask over another picture?

To mask one photo over another photo use the composite tool (available in some trial versions and all bought versions). To add another object in front create an overlay. To replace a background or sky, create an underlay. Once you have loaded in your second photo, use the brushes to go round the edge of the areas and use the flood fill tools to fill in the middle.
