I'm using Window 7 Home 64-bit with the latest version of Smart Photo Editor and I am having a similar problem. I can never get through more than 8 pages of previewing the effects gallery before it crashes.

I can't really use the software well with this occurring so regularly and frequently. Hopefully this info can help in finding a solution or workaround to improve stability. Any suggestions appreciated. I assume the first one has something to do with Quicktime by the looks of the error, but I'm not sure what.

Hi The.Great.ESCape,

We're deeply regretful that this problem is stopping you using Smart Photo Editor. Can you tell us a bit more about the issue you're experiencing? Can you tell us the image type and resolution? Also, do you know what processor and RAM your machine has?

Please let us know and we'll take a look into it as soon as we can.

I've been testing both RAW and JPG images at several different resolutions trying to figure out what is going on.

This machine is a laptop with:
AMD Phenom II N870 Triple-Core processor 2.3 GHz
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250
With DirectX 11 installed and no problems detected
6 GB of RAM

It's not top of the line, but it should be sufficient. Thank you for taking the time to reply and inquire further.

I bought SPE because I already owned Portrait Professional Studio 64 v10 (looking forward to v11), and it works great to sometimes touch up digital paintings (portraits) which is one of my favorite things to do. I sometimes like to play with effects as well to get ideas. I love the versatility there seems to be with SPE. Unfortunately, for whatever reason it crashes on me too often to really even be usable. Luckily it's not really critical for what I do, but it would be really nice to figure out what's going on and fix it up. I don't think it's really my system at fault since I don't really seem to have any other noticeable issues with program stability :)

I look forward to any progress :)

Just downloaded the trial program and tried to check the various effects with sample image in the tutorial mode. It crashed 3 times within about 5 minutes just looking at effects. My computer is running win 7 home premium 64 bit. Hope this can be fixed. Looks like good program if it was more stable.

I'm having problems with crashing also. It's really nerve racking when working on a photo and I go to the effects gallery and all of a sudden it crashes and I have to reopen and then go to the autosave where my changes have been made. I have had my smart photo editor crash 30x in one night. Other than that, I love this program. It's just trying to get wedding photo's done and this keeps happening every night is getting ridiculous. This is not a trial either, I bought this program, so any help I can get would be grateful.

Hi Mooncheetah,

We have discovered a bug on the Mac, where it crashes whenever you press Mask Area in the gallery. The bug is fixed, and it's currently going through testing. We can get you a beta version of the software with that bug fixed, if you'd like and that's the problem you're having. If that's not it, could you open a support ticket, and our support staff will try and help you.
