Saved Size

Postby TrumanPhotography » Wed Apr 13, 2011 10:04 pm

I'm new to this probram, but not to Digital Art... My question is, when I save my work it saves it in 100 Resolution, when the photo I was working with was 300 Resolution.. Why is this and how do I save it to it original size and Res>?

This is part of the exif information being lost. All the same pixels are still there in the saved version, so none of the detail is being lost, but there is a single number called DPI that goes with a file that gives a printer an indication of what size the picture should be printed out at physically and it sounds like that is being lost, so we'll look into that.

This problem has still not been resolved. Please could you set the default dpi to 300 or give a choice when saving?

We preserve the DPI setting so the value in the file you save should be the same as in the image file you loaded. I've tried this myself and can't see the DPI value changing. What format of picture are you using? Could you send me an example file so I can see the problem?

thanks,
Gary

I'm finding this too, every photo I save is reduced in quality, so much so the pic looks terrible...is there anyway around this?

Try saving as a tif instead of jpeg.
