Printer

Postby dinoa80 » Wed Apr 04, 2012 1:30 am

I try to print the pictures but they are printing out much small than the size I select? I can barely fill a 4x6 sheet when selecting 5 x 7?

The print program to use is not that found in SPE but the one native to Win 7. SPE thankfully does not waste internal space by including it's own printer app. The first thing you want to check is if you have included borders in your print-outs. This can be toggled on and off in the color management section under files/print/properties/advanced. If you have included borders, your print-outs will be border width smaller than the size you select, i.e. the print size includes the border used in its total of 4x6, etc.

You should also go to the image you want to print in Explorer, right-click and a popup appears in which you can go to print file. A whole menu of print sizes to choose from appears and you can go from there as you please. You can also use image viewer to print/re-size/attach to email. This is more useful and works far better than anything I have seen in an app.

While I'm glad that you found a solution, I think there should be a more straightforward solution than even that. There should be somewhere in your printer settings or under printer that you can choose between portrait and landscape orientation. This should be true independent of the printer you use or even the application involved.
