Resizing the underlayment

Is there anyway you can see the actual picture of the underlayment when your resizing it? All I get is a blank resizing box but no image which makes it hard for me to know when it's the size I need it??

In order to see the underlay, you'll need to erase some part of the original image to reveal the underlay behind it.
