Problems with locking up

Postby Magnus Nature Photography » Sat Jun 09, 2012 12:24 am

My name is Thomas F. Magnus and even though I really like this editor and all the filters, I have had a lot of problems I need them corrected as soon as possible. Currently, I am unable to use the program. Last night, I was doing some routine maintainance, cleaning old files, defraging and deleting unneeded programs to ellimInate some clutter. I removed the trial version of Smart Photo Editor. That's when the problems started. I could not log back onto the purchased version. It kept advising me to try downloading it again. I TRIED AND TRIED. The only way I could download it was to purchase it again. finally, in desperation, I downloaded the trial version again and it is still on my computer. OUT OF CURIOSITY, I LOGGED BY ONTO THE PURCHASED VERSION AND IT OPENED BUT HAS BEEN A DISASTER EVER SINCE. SINCE THEN, MY CURSOR HAS BEEN ACCOMPANIED BY AN HOURGLASS WHICH AS YOU KNOW LOCKS EVERYTHING DOWN. IF I'M ABLE TO GET ANYTHING EDITED, THE HOURGLASS WILL HANG AROUND FOR UP TO TEN MINUTES OR LONGER AS I TRY TO SAVE IT. IT DID NOT DO THIS UNTIL I WAS FORCED TO DOWNLOAD A COMPLETELY USELESS TRIAL VERSION OF THE EDITOR, WHICH EATS UP ABOUT 60 MB OF SPACE. PLEASE GET BACK TO ME AS QUICKLY, FAST, RAPIDLY AS POSSIBLE AND LET'S GET THIS DAMN PROBLEM WORKED OUT. I AM TRYING TO GET SEVERAL PHOTOS READY FOR A CONTEST. I ALSO WANT TO GET THE TRAIL VERSION OUT OF MY COMPUTER.
I think this is a great editor, after trying numerous others and being disappointed, I am happy with your product, but there is still room for a little improvement.

Thank You for your speedy attention to this matter.

Hi Thomas,

Sorry you are having this problem. It sounds like you are trying to edit a very complex file. Could you try this: Load any jpeg file into the software (not a session file). Go into the gallery and apply stark billiance (the first effect), and then save that as a jpeg. That should all be nice and fast. Let me know if it isn't. If that's ok, then it might be that you are using a particularly complex effect or effects. The other issue I could imagine is that the images you are loading are extremely big. Do you know what resolution the images you are trying are?

Also,if you ever need a download for the software again, just use our license page: http://www.smartphotoeditor.com/licenses

Tony
