Smart Objects in photoshop?

Just wondering why using the Smart Photo Editor cannot be used on smart objects in Photoshop? I am using it it as a plug in for Photoshop 2020, and the filter is grayed out when using a smart object.

We are currently working on a smart object plugin for Photoshop, to be released as a free upgrade.
