replacing background

When im replacing a background image how do i see if i have done a correct job ie making sure the whole background is wiped out before moving on to the next page ie changing the background thanks

I guess you are talking about selecting a background for use with an effect. The best way to do it is to make your selection, then choose the effect, then go back and improve the selection if needed. You can edit any selection that's in use by clicking on it where it appears in black and white in the tab bar at the top of the app.
