I don't understand the question. I am familiar with a village called Brigstock, but I don't know what you mean by "Brigstock text option". Can you explain what you want in more detail?

I am not familiar with that particular font, but as a rule I only need to install a font under Windows 10 and it becomes available in all my programs (including Smart Photo Editor). In SPE I simple select the Text option in the right-hand toolbar and I can browse through the fonts I have available. If you opened the program before installing the font, you should close and re-open the program.

Possibly your font has some unusual property that doesn't allow it to be used, but I have no knowledge of things like that.

Trying to insert text to my layer. Clicked on the Text Box. I start to type and even though the font size (eg 9) is showing on top, the text size changes to a MUCH LARGER size in the layer. How do I get around this?

The font size is only relative to the rest of the text that you are typing (if you want one word much bigger, for instance). To change the size of all of the text, drag the handles of the corners text box on the image.
