How to publish an effect created?

Once I click on publish, a message appear
saying to update from the file menu, but I don't understand
what and how should I update. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm not sure, but maybe "Update Galleries" so that the published effect will show up in the gallery?

I did _updategalleries_but if I look for my effect
I only see it as _local_ I don't see as _by GL etc.

as in my case because I'm just trying to learn, how do I delete them?

Is this something new (that the effects are checked)?

In the past every once in a while people uploaded "effects" which consisted only of photos of their family and which were obviously not meant for public consumption. I have to assume that the effects were published automatically and there was no checking.

The effects that were bad like that were removed from all the galleries execept 'lateset', where they only resided for a limited time.
