Transparent Area in a photograph.

Hi,
How can I make an area defined by “Area select” to be transparent and would it be saveable as a file retaining the transparent area.

We don't support saving selections as transparent areas. However, you can use the brushes to select areas as see through within SPE using the compositing tool. There are some video tutorials about how to use it here.
