Smart Photo Editor is not designed for such work. You can create a composite using your image and a second image of a circle shape, but Smart Photo Editor does not support transparency, so you will not end up with a circular shape on a transparent background. To do this you need a different image editor. I use Photoshop, but there are free image editors that can do this, such as Gimp. All have a certain learning curve, though.
If anyone has any other ideas, I would be glad to hear them.
