File Format NEF RAW unusable in SPE

I use a Nikon D5200 SLR , I shoot NEF Raw files and want to use them in Smart Photo Editor. Image is totally pixelated and useless the way it was imported. How can I resolve this problem.

You could try using the free Adobe RAW to DNG converter utility (search on Google) and then use the DNG file. Whether you lose anything in the process is debateable. SPE will open DNG files but I don't think you can save the results as DNG (just jpeg, tiff, etc).
