Hi Res
Hi,
My question is, how do I get the effects so I can use them in my photo at 30x40 inches in hi res. Because when I apply them and look at them when they are this size they are pix elated, which means I cant print them. My photo works no problem but its the layers or effects from the gallery are the problem.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Re: Hi Res
The textures that are uploaded are of a fixed resolution, which might be lower than the picture you input. Currently when we expand textures onto larger areas, they become blocky. I can fix it so expanded textures are smooth rather than blocky, but it would be difficult to add more detail in that wasn't in the original texture. Would that help?

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the reply, and yes anything to help the break up of the image would be great. But how do we go about this? And how do I stop this from happening again?
Thanks
Mike

Re: Hi Res
Changing it so that upscaled textures are blurry rather than blocky is a change I'd need to make to the software. After it is changed, then all effects that use texture overlays will end up smooth rather than blocky. You would just need to re-export your session files to get the blurred version. I'll try and get this change into the next release if I can.

Re: Hi Res
Thanks Tony, look forward to that. Have you any idea when this might happen?

Hi Mike,
I've just implemented it, so it will definitely be in the next version. We hope to get the next version out next week, as long as testing goes well.

Re: Hi Res
You could also think about adding an image enlargement system via an algorithm of some sort... doesn't have to be mind blowing (there are expensive dedicated apps and filters for that already)... just better than the standard blocky methods. Then you could just use the same methods automatically on effect textures/images There are several image enlargement methods out there from simple to rediculous... wouldn't be a bad tool to add to SPE's arsenal though.
Re: Hi Res
Yes, the thought had crossed my mind. It would be particularly useful in this situation, for increasing the resolution of overlayed textures from the gallery.
