Needs a Second Horizontal Straightening Bar

Hi,

The Straightening Tool needs an additional horizontal bar. Many times its not only the horizon that needs straightening, but the whole picture as a parallelogram: 2 vertical and 2 horizontal correction bars.

Hi Tony,

I sent half-a-dozen pictures via Dropbox showing two programs using the 2 vertical and 2 horizontal tools to straighten a picture. As you know, each image is different in respect to the need of 4 straightening bars, but the use of them is indisputable.

Hi Tony,

I would say a few thousand other photographer/software users are interested. Software companies like Capture One, DxO Optics Pro, DxO Viewpoint use keystoning (parallax-perspective) tools that understand there are not only to two verticals, but two horizontals to contend with in our digital corrections. My Dropbox pictures show two of those companies with their vertical and horizontal tools and how I used them. I assume other software companies dealing with perspective and line balance use these same tools, too.

You already have most of the straightening tools in place; you just need to add the second horizontal bar. It is now the same as having 2 horizontal bars and 1 vertical--that doesn't make sense either.

Hi Tony,

In regard to correcting the the geometry of an image, the design could have the straightening button open up to show 3 tools: 2 vertical bars, 2 horizontal bars, and a single tool that would include 2 vertical and 2 horizontal bars.

In the near future, the tool for straightening the geometry could include just the single tool of 2 vert. and 2 horzt. bars. I can point to other companies that use these tools in the way described, plus add further refinements.

What you have now is an advanced tool, but needs one more horizontal bar.
