Set the mood
This is a restaurant that was built by my Great Grandparents. We made a visit on my Great Grandpa's birthday. I captured the shot with my phone and then tweaked using SPE. I used a sky picture from a couple days ago, and then played with effects until I got the feeling that I wanted. I know my family still hangs out there so I wanted a little ghostly, also it is run down and I could disguise that. The sun was no where to be found that day, except maybe in our hearts. How can you print to a linen like or anything but smooth paper for cards and prints?

Re: Set the mood
This looks really nice, aderdeb.
There do seem to be some jpg artifacts though, especially around the letters on the sign. Make sure you've got your jpeg quality setting up high if you want to get cleaner images, both when exporting from SPE and also on your camera when you take the pictures. When you process pictures, you generally need to use higher quality settings than you might think because some types of processing (especially ones which bring out details) will also make jpeg artifacts more noticable (because they are details too).

Re: Set the mood
Thanks for the reminder, I turned that down because it was taking so long to email pictures--clogging up peoples inbox. I would have forgot. Where do you send pictures for print.. and I guess I should use drop box.
Re: Set the mood
I guess I also should save 2 renditions.. one in high resolution for print and a lower quality for playing. Is there a history stored anywhere so I can recreate the picture. I work on the pictures and am out of this world while I do it, I don't write down the script for the steps I take to get the results I get. Thanks.
Re: Set the mood
Had not closed the picture, was open in a different window. Do I need to print both resolutions to see the difference?

Re: Set the mood
WOW! Just printed both saves--huge difference. Thank you. It is all very helpful. I want to create cards for friends and family, maybe even sell a few. I don't want the option of just using flat smooth paper, any other ideas for that?
