Horseman - Montagne de Lure, Provence
We stopped to admire the view but were scared to death when we realised that this precipice had no protection whatsoever and there was a huge drop. So we stood well back. Then this guy on a horse arrives and casually walks up to the edge. I quickly took this picture. Pentax K5. Effects were 'Oil Painting' and 'White Border'

Very nice image. I like the nostalgic look to this. Good application for the subject.
Perfect angle to capture the horseman and the horse turning its head, the swish of the tail. This really works for me. I hope to see more of your images.
Thank you for sharing.

That I called trust in each other! Nice depth in the picture and the oil painting effect fits like a coat, well done!

Hi Richard,
Wonderfully atmospheric & emotive image - great connection between horse & rider. Great effect & border selection - used sympathetically to produce an OUTSTANDING work of PURE ART!
Keep up the good work!
Cheers,
Andrew

Wow, thanks. An 'outstanding piece of pure art'? Interestingly my wife and I were on a water colour painting course in Provence at the time (this was on a day off). Not sure the teacher would agree with it being 'art'
