Help newbie please? Skin Color/Tone
Hello. I am in the process of learning this delightful software. I have been experimenting with various projects and would appreciate a little help with the following:
I have a picture of my father that for some reason came out VERY red. The background subject is ugly. I have figured out how to use the composite feature to create an underlay. (Love this!) The problem now is removing the red from my father's face and replacing with a natural skin color/tone. I have searched through the effects panel for the most correct effect but apparently I am not doing something right. When I find an effect that allows me to adjust to whatever color I want I just can't seem to find the right color. I have tried adjusting with the sliders for the most appropriate colors but have not had the success I am looking for. What steps and or effect should I be using? Have I missed something, perhaps a tutorial on changing skin COLOR? Thank you for any help.

Hi Moonbeam1,
For the skin I would choose the 'Area Treatment' tool, select the skin by using the brushes and clicking on 'Auto' button in the area selection box on the left side of your screen and choose for 'Skin'.
Use the sliders to adjust the colors.
To change the background of the image I would go for 'Select Area' and choose 'Background' and select the background with the brushes (you can also select the subject and afterwards use the button 'invert selection' if thats easier, in some cases it is)
There are alot of official video tutorials, you can find them here
An unofficial video tutorial about skin enhancement, you can find here
Some video tutorials I created, also unofficial, you can find here
Hope it will help you.
