New Christmas effects added

Postby Arwin » Mon Nov 04, 2013 5:20 pm

Hi all,

I've added some more Christmas effects, I did not choose for the 'one click ready' effects this time, instead I uploaded a variety of star effects and a Christmastree effect.
The idea is that you can choose which stars you wanna use, on the left, right, top or bottom side of your image, of course you're able to add them all in, if you wish.
By this there are many many possibilities to create your own Christmas border.

There are big stars and small ones, each of them as seperate effects, you can choose them in the colors: Red, Green, Silver and Gold.
You can find the effects (as soon they are active) in the category Creative Borders and Mixed Media, I will tag them also as 'Christmas' and 'Christmas stars' as soon as they are active (so you can use the search option in the gallery).
I will soon upload some extra Christmas Baubles too, in the same way.

Hint: Use brushes to mask-out/off stars, place small ones on top of the big stars, use snow effects and Vignettes (and any other effect you like of course ;) )

Hope you like :)
Arwin

Here are some examples I created with the effects (used existed Vignettes and Snow effects)

Hi Arwin,

Your new effects look very adaptable & I'm sure that many will find them very useful especially at this time of year. Got to confess that I don't have a single sentimental bone in my body, so I am unlikely to use your effects myself. However, I will delve into their construction to see what I can learn from you about effect design. I'm sure that will be a stimulus for new ideas for me. Well done in creating so many widely useable effects!

I've added to our dialogue about drop shadow effects in Mozzy's 'Gladioli' discussion. I've uploaded a screen print of an effect structure that will produce the desired effect, but it has not been refined - just a 'quick & dirty' version that you can work on if you like. I'm not actually uploading it, but I was curious to see if I could get something to work. It does, but you might be the person to perfect the effect.

Kind regards,

Andrew

Haha did need to translate the humbug part Mozzer, I guess it's not your cup of tea ;) but there were some that asked for Christmas themed effects, so I created some and in a way that the are freely adaptable so everyone can give there own touch to it :)

@Andrew, they are just 'normal' effects, nothing to learn out of it for you I guess ;) Only the modular buildup is different, I could had created a 'one click' border, but I think this is more interesting :) btw your version of drop shadow looks very interesting, Ive answered you at that post!
