I was under the impression i was to recieve software to support this product, is this right, I have no way of saving it in case of a crash.

Are you talking about saving images or saving a copy of the software in case your computer breaks? Once you've bought the software, you can always download it again by going here: http://www.smartphotoeditor.com/licenses/
